FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A SUNSET RUN?

Runners will enjoy a night-time look and feel as they run through Dodger Stadium.

WILL THERE BE AN EXPO?

Our Health + Wellness Expo will take place on Saturday, September 28th (RACE DAY) from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Centerfield Plaza at Dodger Stadium.

HOW DO I FIND MY START TIME?

During registration, runners were asked to select an estimated pace/finish time. To maintain social distancing and safety for all runners, a wave start will be assigned base for all participants. Start times and additional information will be shared via email closer to race week.

IS THE RACE TIMED?

Yes, the in-person event is timed. Runners at Dodger Stadium will receive a race bib and chip timing.

Virtual runners will have the opportunity to submit their times via Race Roster. See Virtual Runner FAQs.

WHEN IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

Registration for the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health, will close on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 at 6 p.m. PST or if the maximum combined field of participants has been reached. Registration will be available at Packet Pick-Up and on Race Day ONLY if the run has not already sold out.

WHAT IS YOGA ON THE FIELD?

Step onto the hallowed grounds of Dodger Stadium and become part of history as hundreds of yogis unite for an awe-inspiring one-hour yoga session on the iconic field. Yoga on the Field takes place on Saturday, September 28th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. We kindly ask all Yoga on the Field participants to check-in by 5:15 p.m.

Additional Details:

  • Registration includes reserved spot for (1), one hour instruction led yoga session.
  • Yoga mats will not be provided. Please bring your own light-colored yoga mat. (Black, Dark Grey, etc. yoga mats will not be allowed on the field)
  • For ages 13 and older
WHAT TIME DO THE RACES START?

The races start at:

Kids Fun Run: 4:00 p.m.

5k Race: 5:00 p.m.

10k Race: 7:30 p.m.

Race corral assignments will be made during the registration process.

WHERE CAN I GET MY RESULTS FOR THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS FOUNDATION SUNSET RUN PRESENTED BY UCLA HEALTH?

Results will be posted on the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health website within 24 hours after the event. There will also be QR codes placed around the event for quick access to the results following the conclusion of the race.

WHERE ARE THE AID STATIONS?

There will be one Aid Station with water on the 5K race course, two Aid Stations with water on the 10K race course.

WHEN DOES THE RUN OFFICIALLY END?

All Run events will close at 9 p.m. This includes the cool-down lap around the warning track.

WILL GEAR CHECK BE PROVIDED?

Gear check will NOT be provided for this run. Free parking will be available at Dodger Stadium, so we ask that you leave any personal items and articles of warm-up clothing in your vehicle.

I AM INJURED AND CAN NO LONGER PARTICIPATE THIS YEAR! CAN I DEFER UNTIL NEXT YEAR?

YES. Up until September 15th, 2024 you may request to defer your registration until 2025 with a doctor’s note to prove medical need. You must provide a copy of your doctors note to our Customer Service team prior to September 15th, 2024. A deferral under any other circumstance will NOT be accepted.

WHAT IF I LOSE OR FORGET MY BIB?

Unfortunately, lost or forgotten bibs will not be replaced as bib numbers are pre-assigned to each participant.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET FOR ME?

NO. All participants are required to pick up their own packet during scheduled Packet Pick-Up hours. Individuals will NOT be able to pick up packets on behalf of others. This includes friends and family members. Only parents may pick up packets for their children under the age of 18. There will be no exceptions made to these rules. Please plan accordingly.

MY FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER IS INJURED AND CAN NO LONGER PARTICIPATE! CAN I TAKE HIS/HER PLACE?

NO. Each participant must have his/her own registration to participate in the run. In the event of an emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore you are NOT allowed to participate using someone else’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

CAN I GET A REFUND?

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health, like many other large races, has a long-standing policy that does NOT provide any refunds. We apologize for any inconvenience.

CAN I TRANSFER MY PAID REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER PERSON?

NO. All race entries for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health are non-transferable under any and all circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience.

CAN I SWITCH FROM THE 5K TO THE 10K OR MY CHILD FROM THE KIDS FUN RUN TO THE 5K OR VICE VERSA?

YES. You can switch your race distance until the deadline of September 15th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PST. If you are switching from the Kids Fun Run to the 5K or 10K, the 5K to the 10K or from the 5k/10k to the Virtual Run, you will be responsible for paying the difference in fees as well as a $2.00 transfer fee. If you switch from the 5K or 10K to the Kids Fun Run or the 10K to the 5K you will not be refunded the difference. Once the deadline has passed, you will need to switch your race distance in person at the Solutions Booth during scheduled Packet Pick-up hours. You will be responsible for paying the difference in fees as well as a $20.00 transfer fee if you switch your race distance after the deadline. WHAT TYPE OF SHIRT WILL I RECEIVE IN MY REGISTRATION PACKET? IS IT GENDER-SPECIFIC?

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health will make every effort to provide a run shirt in the size runners request when registering. Please understand that we order the shirts months in advance and we estimate the sizes we will need on race weekend based on the prior year’s registration. Please note these are unisex sizes. These shirts are for participants only and will not be sold to the general public. If you would like to exchange t-shirt sizes, you can try to do so if there are extra shirts on race morning.

IS THE 5K & 10K COURSE CERTIFIED?

NO, the course is not USATF certified.

WILL PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE A FINISHER MEDAL?

YES. All registered participants will receive a finisher medal upon crossing the finish line. If you do not participate in the race for any reason, your medal WILL NOT be mailed to you.

WHAT AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN OUT?

Awards will be awarded to Top 3 Overall Male and Female Finishers in the 5K Run and 10K Run of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health and 3 deep in the following divisions for Males and Females of both races: 13 & under, 14 -18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-75, 76 & above.  Winners will be based on chip times. Winners must be present at the finish line to receive their prize. Awards not claimed at the finish line will not be mailed.

IS THERE AN AGE MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM TO PARTICIPATE?

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run Presented by UCLA Health is open to adults and children of all ages. The Kids Fun Run is open to youngsters 12 and under.

ARE THERE RESTROOM FACILITIES AT THE RACE LOCATION?

YES. The restrooms in the Left and Right Pavilion will be open. We will also have portable restrooms located in the expo area in Lot G. There will also be portable restrooms out on the 10K course as well.

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS OF THE KIDS FUN RUN?

The Kids Fun Run distance is approx. 1/8 of a mile and starts at 4:00 p.m.! 

Kids must be 12 years of age or younger to participate. If the child is very young, a parent may accompany them on the run. Parents will need to sign their own waiver at packet pick up if doing so. We ask for parents and their children to start in the back of the group so the older kids running solo can start in the front.
